About Me

I am a native of Fayette, Alabama. I graduated from Hubbertville High School with an Advanced Placement Diploma and was in the top 10 percentile of my class. After High School, College was almost not an option because of me being financially on my own.

After saving up money, I attended Bevill State Community College as a Nursing Major but, quickly found out that was not what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. After some searching I found Northwest Mississippi  Community College that offered a full ride music scholarship and allowed me to get my Associate of Arts in Communication with a concentration in Broadcast Journalism.

While at NWCC, I was named the Lifestyles Editor for The Ranger Rocket and also did a paid Internship with the DeSoto Times Tribune as an Entertainment Writer and Click Magazine as a Freelance Writer.

After NWCC, I transferred to the University of North Alabama to finish my Bachelors of Science degree in Print and Online Journalism and obtain a  minor in Political Science. In 2013 I was a staff writer for the Flor-ALA

During the summer of 2013, I interned for NO'ALA Magazine.

Currently, I am the only staff writer employed at  The People-Sentinel in Barnwell, SC. I also do work on a podcast called Man School with Caleb Bacon
